Choreography

As a choreographer, I specialize in modern dance. I studied ballet, modern, composition, and improvisation techniques at SUNY Purchase, and ballroom styles in Sacramento at Spotlight. I’m also proud to have briefly studied with contemporary artists from the the Trisha Brown Dance Company, especially Will Swanson, Kathleen Fisher, Keith Thompson, and Shelley Senter.

I started out as a dancer and choreographer, studying at the Conservatory for Dance at SUNY Purchase and with various artists from the downtown dance scene in NYC. My penchant for experimental, improvisational and collaborative work led me to produce interdisciplinary showcases at Purchase from 1999 to 2000 for dancers, musicians and visual artists.

I'm always interested to collaborate with dancers on new work, either as a choreographer or as musician. I also offer dance classes and private lessons from time to time; contact me for more information.

This recording is of a collaboration with guitarist extraordinaire, Matthew Grasso. As part of his annual concert honoring the seven-string guitar, I choreographed three short dances for solo-guitar pieces in his repertoire: Elgar’s Nimrod Variation, Ravel’s Fairy Garden, and Matthew’s beautiful Dance with the rain.
